The Coven and Coffin Blog Hop:
From October 27th until November 1st six authors, including myself, are participating in the Coven and Coffin Blog Hop. This hop is a little different from all the rest since we’re each sort of putting on our own show. For instance, I’m running the Murder Mystery Party. You’ll find that post down below. Each day will be another hour at the party. The suspects are us–the authors doing the hop. Each day on my blog you’ll read part of the Murder Mystery script and you’ll also meet one of the authors. You must pick up the clues as you read and try to figure out which one of us is the killer. How fun does that sound? Well, there is plenty more where that came from. There is also a Hop wide giveaway. We’re giving away a huge prize pack to one luck reader, so be sure to enter the giveaway each day. Now, here is what the other authors are doing and how to find them:
The Murder Mystery Party Continues!
- Readers may ask one question in the comments section per day.
- Only 3 questions will be answered per day and some answers may throw you off the trail.
- All authors have motive to kill the victim, only one had the guts.
- Each day is another hour at the party.
- The party starts at seven and you must find the killer by midnight!

You (Guest and Detective)
In case you missed it:
You emerge from the bathroom and notice it’s eleven o’clock. You desperately want to find out who did it before the police get there. The bedroom is the next stop, but you take one more look around the bathroom.
A few of the authors are arguing now. Things are getting tense. Kayleigh Grian follows you into the bedroom and asks what you’re doing. You tell her that you’re searching for more clues and she offers to help.
“Sure, I wanted to ask you something anyway,” you say.
“What is that?”
“Well, it seems all of the authors have had some sort of tiff with Stanford. I was wondering if you did too.”
“Yeah, I do. It’s nothing big though. He found out what I wanted to title my work in progress and stole it for his own book.”
“Oh, well that’s not cool. This guy sounded like a low life, but I don’t think he deserved to be killed.”
“No, probably not,” Kayleigh agreed.
“One more question?”
“What state are you from?”
“Georgia,” she replies.
You sigh with relief and open the closet where the murder weapon was found. Something shiny catches your eye. It’s a nice, silver pen. It also has a little drop of blood on it. You recognize it as one that an author had used to autograph your books earlier in the evening, but you can’t remember which one it belongs to. You are sure it’s belongs to one of the Pennsylvanians and there is only one way to find out.
You dash out of the bedroom and head for the living room where your bag of books waits. You pull them out and grab your notebook along with it. Using the pen, you write your own name in the notebook and begin comparing the ink to the signatures in your books. The others are now in the living room trying to figure out what you’re doing.
As you compare, you find that the pen ink isn’t different enough from the others to compare with the naked eye. It’s most similar to Jessica Fortunato’s and Kayla Curry’s but the comparisons would have to be analyzed in a lab.
You sigh and pull the keychain out of your pocket. You notice another detail that you hadn’t seen before. Tiny black animal hairs were caught in the ring of the keychain. You guessed it was cat hair. Now you knew who had killed Stanford McQueen. The clock strikes twelve just before you make your announcement.
Who was it? Put your guess in the comments and come back tomorrow to find out the answer and read the final scene of the Murder Mystery Party.
Kayleigh Grian Bio:
Kayleigh Grian is currently a part time student working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Computer Forensics and Security. She also works full time as a police dispatcher.
Kayleigh has always enjoyed writing, especially fiction and poetry. She is working on several projects including her first novel and a collection of short stories. Kayleigh enjoys reading as much as she does writing and will often go through a few books a week when she doesn’t have a ton of homework to do.
Sapphire and Sage Blurb:
When their parents were murdered, twin sisters Sapphire and Sage, were separated to keep them safe. That was 22 years ago. Now, just before their 25th birthday, they are reunited only to learn the true reason for their parent’s murder, magic. They are the current generation in a long line of powerful witches. Their family tree seems cursed, with tragedy and death haunting each generation, traced as far back as the 1700s.
The Night Rage Coven is a group of power hungry demons with the ability to steal magic as long as they can kill the last of a bloodline. When the twins inherit their powers, they become the latest target of the Coven. They must learn to work together and control their new magic before it is too late. Will they survive the hunt or will the bloodline end with them?
